Position Summary

  • The Radiologic Student can assist the Radiological Technologist in various job duties to help provide high quality care to patients


Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate with the patient in a professional manner, explaining the procedure and addressing patient questions or concerns.
  • Understanding radiation protection and safety protocols and standards.
  • Prepare and assist the technologist in special or advanced procedures.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
  • Observe and report general physical and mental condition of patients for signs and symptoms which may be indicative of change.
  • Other duties assigned include covering clerical duties.
  • Support Technologists in all aspects of Imaging.
  • Understands to only operate Radiation exposures during clinical hours.


Education and Experience

Level of Education

  • Minimum: High School Diploma. Current Enrollment in Accredited (JRCERT) Radiology Program. Enrollment must be maintained during internship.


Level of Experience

  • Minimum: 1 year and 2 year Radiology Sciences Students


Additional Requirements

  • State Issued License - Student Radiography License
  • CPR - Yes
  • ACLS - N/A
  • PALS - N/A
  • Type of Specialty Certification or other Licensure, if required:
  • BLS


Qualifications

Education

High School or better in Other or related field.

BLS- Basic Life Support
