Medical Staff Credentialing Assistant (On-Site)

Job Summary

Provides administrative support to the Medical Staff Credentialing department through a variety of responsibilities including greeting and assisting providers/students, creating correspondence, and processing paperwork.

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs administrative duties such as correspondence, memos and maintenance of general and confidential records with the Medical Staff Office.
  • Answers phone and greet guests with interest and support.
  • Maintains provider information in the credentialing database.
  • Maintain compliance of expirable items such as licenses, ACLS/BLS certifications, malpractice coverage, TB testing, etc.
  • May assist with credentialing audits and may assist to conduct internal file audits.
  • Assist with administrative functions associated with the onboarding of new providers and students.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating events such as the Physician Service Awards, Doctors' Day and Medical Staff meetings.
  • Assists in all functions of the Medical Staff Office as directed by the Medical Staff Office Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education Requirements

Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent experience.

Preferred: Associate degree in health-related field or another related field.

Experience Requirements

Minimum:6 months or more of clerical and customer service experience.

Preferred: Medical staff credentialing experience preferred.

License/Certification Requirements - None

Qualifications

Education

High School or better in Other or related field.

GED or better in Other or related field.
